If you are missing multiple teeth you can get an implant retained bridge.  The number of implants needed depends on how many teeth are missing adjacent to each other.

The implants are normally placed in a single session.  Often the implants are ready for the final bridge placement.  However, in some cases implants may need a month or two to fully integrate with the jaw. In this case a temporary bridge may be placed.
